  • When hearing holistic way, think ‘the whole person—body, mind, spirit, soul’.

 

WHICH ARE MASSAGE THERAPY BENEFITS?

  • Here are some benefits of Massage:  1.  It increases your joy in life by reducing pain, fatigue and stress.  2.   It facilitates recovery from injury by removing muscular adhesions, lengthening muscles, and releasing trigger points.  3.  It prevents injury and helps to maintain health by improving local circulation, corrects muscular imbalances and moves the lymphatic system.  4.  It supports you in times of change by the power of touch and connecting with the individual You.  5.  It gifts you with a peaceful mind and heart as well as a relaxed body.

 

IS MASSAGE GOOD FOR EVERYBODY?

  • While Massage may be contraindicated for some, everyone of all ages and body types can receive treatments.

 

  • There are numerous massage therapy techniques to suit individual needs—those of the client, not the therapist.

 

  • Here is a list of the various techniques that are used here at STRESS MANAGEMENT CENTER: Deep Tissue Massage, Injury-Recovery Massage, Sports Massage, Myofascial Massage, Structural Integration, Therapeutic Movement, Deep Relaxation, Meditation, Breathwork, Relaxation Massage,  Energy Work, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Pregnancy Massage, and Lymphatic Massage.

 

  • Yoga, Reiki, and Bach Florals have the same benefits as Massage.

 

IS MASSAGE THERAPY REGULATED?

  • In our state of Florida, Massage is governed and regulated by THE FLORIDA STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.  This means every Massage, regardless of location and technique is considered a Medical Treatment and may be used as a medical tax deduction.  It also means that every Massage Therapist in the state of Florida must be state licensed, follow all the guidelines set forth by The Department of Health, be fingerprinted and have a background check, with no felonies, in order to practice.

 

  • Both clinic and individual therapist are assigned identification numbers as well as licenses.  These must be publically displayed

 

  • During a Massage, the client must be alone in the treatment room while dressing or undressing and must be covered or draped at all times except for the part of the body being treated.
