Reflexology

Reflexology, known by many names, is an easy, ancient technique of relieving

pain or discomfort. Using gentle finger and thumb pressure to the foot, hand, or ear to obtain this relief is practiced in many cultures throughout the world. Some other names include acu-pressure and shiatsu. In reflexology, the specific locations for treatment include reflex points that are nerve endings for nerves that affect the muscles, internal organs and bony structures of the body; these points and the corresponding areas of the body are divided into zones and regions which help the therapist (reflexologist) be more thorough both in his or her assessment and treatment of the clients’ issues and problems. All the client needs to do is relax , breathe and enjoy the treatment which is given either on a massage table or a special reflexology chair. As long as loose, comfortable clothing is worn, there is no need for undressing or draping. If the therapist has the equipment and opportunity, giving the client an herbal or floral foot bath beforehand, adds to the quality of the beneficial results of reflexology. It also works extremely well with essential oils and flower essences.

The Newly Found Balance after Treatment is Reflected in Having a Healthier and Happier Day with both Personal and Work Relationships

When you go to a Reflexology appointment in Florida, the reflexologist should be a Florida State Licensed Massage Therapist as it is considered compression massage. Ask if the therapist has had any formal training in Reflexology. Although pedicurists study reflexology when they go to school and can use it in their work, they are not allowed by law to advertise it. This is why some pedicurists can make you feel amazing after getting your pedicure.

If the reflexologist only has a chair available, only the feet or hands or ears are treated. If you have very sensitive feet that don’t like to be touched, allowing the therapist to gently hold them will give you some benefit and your hands and ears will be the focus of your treatment.

Reflexology is easy to receive and the benefits to our every level of being are many.
