Get Up & Go Yoga Class

Now you can have a Yoga Class withour wanting to go back to bed after it!

Morning Yoga Classes are specially designed to:

  • activate muscle energy,

  • activate brain power,

  • help to boost your energy

  • make you more an active and productive .

The Morning Yoga Class uses movement, posture, breath and thought awareness to improve your energy level and control over your body, mind and emotions.

Differently than our evening classes that focus on stretching and relaxing, Morning Yoga gets you ready to get out the door and run your day in a positive, rhythmic fashion, supported by a strong breath and a clear focus in your mind. No "let me take a nap" feeling!

Morning Yoga useus movement, posture, breath and thought awareness to help you gain a balanced control of your body and mind. In regular Yoga Classes, we go deeper into a position or pose by surrendering and sinking into the pose. In the Morning Yoga, YOU control the movement, YOU go deeper into the pose by becoming aware of your muscles work and your breathing

Instead of contemplating your movements, you will be controlling them.

There are no Savasanas or Corpse Poses in the Morning Yoga (relaxation poses). We finish the class with a seldom used variation of the warrior pose, called the Archer. Besides boosting your external and internal systems, the Archer promotes courage and confidence that you will carry with you for the rest of the day (and incorporate to your week!)

Just try it at home:

  • Stand with the feet approximately 2 – 3 feet apart.

  • Turn the right foot so it is pointed away from the side of the body. Place the left foot at a right angle to the right foot; the toes will be pointing away from the front of the body. A line extending back from the heel of the right foot should intersect with the arch of the left foot.

  • Bend the right leg forward so that the right knee is over the right toes. Stretch through the left leg, knee straight, heel pressing into the floor.

  • Reach forward with the right hand and bring the fingers to the palms, as if grasping a bow. As if pulling back on the bowstring, bring the left hand, fingers also curled to the palms, to the left shoulder. Both thumbs are pointed up.

  • Tuck the tailbone via a light Root Lock. Pull Neck Lock with the chin in, chest out.

  • Gaze at the tip of the right thumb and breathe deeply from the navel.

  • Reverse sides and repeat.

Morning Yoga Classes are offered at Stress Management Center, in Cocoa Beach, every Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00AM to 10:15AM, at the cost of $10,00 per class. Walk-ins are welcome and ther is no need of previous Yoga experience.
